Host a Foreign Exchange Student – 2024-2025 School Year

The Rotary Club of Midland-Morning, is seeking host families who live in the Midland Public School District to host a male student named Peter, from Hungary, for the 2024-2025 school year. Peter will be turning 18 at the start of the school year and will be in Midland from mid-August 2024 until mid-July 2025.

Peter enjoys skiing, basketball, hanging out with friends, listening to music and playing computer games. He has studied English for eight years and has passed the level B2 English Euroexam with distinction, which demonstrates a high degree of proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking. His native language is Hungarian, and he is also studying Italian. Peter is described by his references as being independent, good at making friends, a good problem solver, and interested in travel and the world. His career plan is to study economics and eventually own his own real estate business or dealership.

Each family would host Peter for approximately half of his time here (one school semester, plus the adjacent portion of the summer.) Host families come in all shapes and sizes and do not have to have other children in the home in order to provide an excellent hosting experience. What is most important is that the family/couple/individual can offer a safe, supportive and loving home environment, actively engage with the student and provide housing, meals, and transportation to/from school and other local activities. The family would also have strong support and assistance from the local Rotary Club and District in fulfilling these responsibilities.
