On Multilingualism and Empathy

Why bother learning another language, when so many people in the world speak English? In this talk, Dr. Robert Felty discusses the influence of language on our everyday life, and how multi-lingualism can help us to become more empathetic people, and maybe help finally achieve world peace. Presented by guest speaker, Dr. Robert Felty.

Robert Felty received his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Michigan. Since then he has combined computer programming and linguistics to work on virtual assistants and search engines in many different languages. In 2018, he and his family each packed 2 suitcases and moved across the ocean to Germany, where they are finding new adventures.
