Our programs aim to support children and youth in developing a strong UU identity, growing into mature members of our fellowship, and building lasting relationships with each other and the wider community. Last year we moved to whole-church activities, integrating younger children into broader fellowship life, to strengthen connection and belonging.
We’re excited to begin a new year of Faith Formation at UUFoM! This year, we’re inviting our children and youth to explore some big questions, try new things, build connections, and discover what it means to grow together in our Unitarian Universalist community.
Our journey will follow monthly themes that give us lots of room for curiosity, creativity, conversation, and fun. We’ll begin in September with Beginnings, and throughout the year we’ll explore Courage, Healing, Awe, Thresholds, Commitment, Balance, Emergence, Play, and Horizons.
Along the way, we’ll connect these themes to our UU Shared Values (justice, equity, transformation, pluralism, interdependence, and generosity, centered in love) and the ways those values show up in our everyday lives. We’ll explore questions like:
- What does it take to begin again?
- Where do we find courage?
- How do we heal together?
We want Faith Formation to be a place where they can ask questions, wonder out loud, make friends, explore their own beliefs, discover their values, and experience what it feels like to belong to a caring community.
We’re especially excited to welcome Amanda Warner, our new Faith Formation Coordinator, who will be working with families, volunteers, children, and youth to help make this a meaningful and joyful year. We’re looking forward to getting to know our families and hearing your ideas about what will help Faith Formation thrive.
