Public Radio is under attack! The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) normally funnels congressionally appropriated money to local stations, but in 2025 Congress cancelled this funding. Additionally, as of January 5th, the CPB has voluntarily disbanded. According to Patricia Harrison, President and CEO of CPB, “…CPB’s final act would be to protect the integrity of the public media system and the democratic values by dissolving, rather than allowing the organization to remain defunded and vulnerable to additional attacks.” Our local stations need your help.
Do you enjoy listening to programs such as All Things Considered, Science Friday, Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, The 1A, or World Café on Delta College or WCMU Public Radio? In this time of misinformation would you like to help provide quality news programs to our community? If you appreciate our local public radio stations, you can support them and help others learn about UUFOM at the same time, by joining our annual public radio bundling initiative.

For the last 16 years, UUFoM members and friends have been getting extra value from their public radio donations by combining their payments into UUFoM “bundles” that get sent to either Delta College or to WCMU in Mount Pleasant. Our Fellowship gets free advertising from the money, and donors get the satisfaction of helping both public radio and our fellowship. Checks should be sent to the church and the treasurer will tally them and send a single check to each station.
Please join us! To have your check bundled with others from UUFoM, make it out to “UUFoM” and include either “for WCMU 89.5 bundling” or “for Delta 90.1 bundling” on the memo line, then mail it before the end of February to UUFoM, 6220 Jefferson Ave., Midland, MI 48640 (or place it in the Donations Box). Please let our treasurer, Jim Stewart, know your check is coming by sending him an email at treasurer@uufom.org or call Tim Wagner at 989-750-2232. Checks will be accepted through the end of February, and every amount counts.
