The Board continues to meet monthly as we strive to make our beloved community bigger, stronger, and safer; while making the tasks we all take on for our common good easier to understand and accomplish. To that end, and in the finest UU tradition, we have finalized and approved several new policies and procedures.
We now have a fire protection policy, designed to both prevent and respond to fires. You are all encouraged to read and understand it.
We also have a new alcohol policy. If you wish to bring alcohol onto UUFoM premises or are in charge of any event that involves serving alcohol, you must understand the approval process, rules and responsibilities that come with that.
And finally, a policy creation procedure has been adopted to clarify the steps and roles involved for creating any future board policies. In my somewhat anarchic soul, I marvel at our collective quest for order.
I hope this finds you all in good health and enjoying this hot, smoky, and politically fraught summer. I habitually retreat to my wood shop, a mandatory creative outlet for me. I hope you all have an activity you can lose yourself in for long stretches. Please strive to be happy and give yourself to others in the spirit of love that is the center of this fellowship. /p>
With Love,
Jim Crissman
Board President
