Serendipity Auction Item Shared With Midland Commnunity

Roy Wedge’s Serendipity Auction donation of his canvas “Alden B. Dow House “Transported”” was purchased by Dot Hornsby. Dot thought that his painting was too “community” to be in one person’s home so she purchased the paining to share with the community.

Roy’s painting is currently on loan to Midland Center for the Arts until June 3. The placard reads:

Alden B. Dow House “Transported”
Roy Wedge
Acrylic on Canvas
In this piece artist Roy Wedge takes the Alden B. Dow Home and Studio and transports the building to an altered setting.
Roy has been a part of the Midland community since coming to this city in 1981. Though Roy is mostly a self-taught artist, he has enjoyed two art classes at the Midland Center for the Arts Studio School which assisted him on his journey. In talking about his art and experiences, Roy noted that he feels he “still has a lot to learn.”
The Alden B. Dow Home and Studio is now an active museum here in Midland, Michigan which tells the story of Mr. Dow and his unique style and impressive designs. Mr. Dow’s career is currently highlighted here at the Midland Center for the Arts in the ARTchitecture: Designing Midland.

Congratulations Roy and thank you Dot!
