Amanda Van Regenmorter

Interim Religious Educator

Former Staff

Amanda Van Regenmorter joined UUFoM about five years ago with her husband Jon and their two children, Lincoln and Lilah. They came for the Religious Education (RE) program and stayed for the lovely community. She is delighted to be able to give back to the UUFoM RE program that connected her to her spiritual home by serving as interim religious educator.

Amanda Van Regenmorter is from Battle Creek, Michigan and obtained a Chemical Engineering degree from Michigan Tech University. In 2007 she and her husband came to Midland, Michigan to work for the Dow Chemical Company. They took a two-year sabbatical to serve in the Peace Corps in Bomet, Kenya where they worked as secondary school teachers at Kabungut Boys Boarding school. Amanda taught Life Skills, Chemistry, and Physics and founded an art club.

She and her husband returned to Midland and their careers at Dow where Amanda worked as a Run-Plant Engineer and Process Engineer until 2017 when she left to stay home with her children. She has enjoyed the time to support her family and develop her own passions such as writing and theatre, most recently appearing in the community theatre production of Men on Boats at the Center for the Arts. She has also been able to spend more of her time volunteering at Woodcrest Elementary in her children’s classrooms and in the RE program at UUFoM and is excited to continue that service in this role.
