On May 20, 2001, the members of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Midland voted unanimously to become a Welcoming Congregation.  A "Welcoming Congregation" is a congregation in the UUA that has chosen to join other congregations in publicly and successfully welcoming bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender people into their communities.
